Tin Typed Book
Make a small copper book with a tube bar hanging system for the pages. Make more than a dozen faux tin-types to hang from the binding or rivet to the covers. Metal stamped discs spelling out tin types will be attached to the chain along with keys or trims that you may want to bring. Rubber stamp into molten solder to add interest to the book front. Work with a new patina system that uses both hot and cold techniques.
Skill Level: intermediate
Skills Learned: Metal fabrication and decoration, book assembly, faux tin-types
All metals for the book and the tin types, findings and chain for assembly, ITS print and fluid for image transfer, solder and stamps for book front decoration, patinas and sealers, a few vintage type trims.
Scissors, basic wire working tools ie. round nose pliers, chain nose pliers, flush cutter, disposable black nail file for acrylic nails (beauty supply or drug store)
Old clothes or aprons would be a good idea as the patinas can stain. ($120)
