Class and lots of new

Joni Russell will be here this coming week-end and has two great classes for you.

I will send the picture of the Saturday all day class as soon I get it, the class description is pretty detailed.

BOTTLE TRANSFORMATION

Tell a story or share a memory with a story bottle. Adorn a solder trimmed bottle with waxed lace, vintage ribbons, vintage jewelry, watch parts, keys, hardware and anything else you may have. With your kit you will get the solder trimmed bottle, doily, ribbon, vintage book shred, lavender seed, a few trims, wire and use of images, wax, wire and rusty screen. You can also choose to solder trim an additional bottle to take home. Vintage knobs, jewelry and found objects will be available for sale, but you are welcome to bring your own.
Example, make a bottle memory of Grandma:
Print off an image that we can suspend in the bottle, bring any items of jewelry, fabric or small memorabilia that can make your bottle personal.

Skills Learned
Bottle soldering, wax working, transforming found and vintage objects into bottle trims.

Products Provided
Soldered bottle, blank bottle, foil, solder, doily, rusty screen, ribbon, paper shred, wax, wire, misc. chain and a few trims. Soldering iron to share.

Bring:

Additional lace, ribbons, trims etc. Items small enough to drop through neck of bottle. Topper for bottle, ie door knob, large button, ice pick or other vintage rod with handle, large key etc.
scissors, glue stick or adhesive of choice, basic wire working tools ie. round nose pliers, chain nose pliers, flush cutter. ($60)

Participants may choose to bring their meals and work during the break times.



Make a small copper book with a tube bar hanging system for the pages. Make more than a dozen faux tin-types to hang from the binding or rivet to the covers. Metal stamped discs spelling out tin types will be attached to the chain along with keys or trims that you may want to bring. Rubber stamp into molten solder to add interest to the book front. Work with a new patina system that uses both hot and cold techniques.

Skill Level: mintermediate

Metal fabrication and decoration, book assembly, faux tin-types

All metals for the book and the tin types, findings and chain for assembly, ITS print and fluid for image transfer, solder and stamps for book front decoration, patinas and sealers, a few vintage type trims.

Copper sheet metal, soldering iron solder, rubber stamps, patinas and sealers, ITS paper and fluid medium, additional vintage trims ie. keys, old jewelry bits, watches, gears etc.


Bring:
Scissors, basic wire working tools ie. round nose pliers, chain nose pliers, flush cutter, disposable black nail file for acrylic nails (beauty supply or drug store)
Old clothes or aprons would be a good idea as the patinas can stain.

Coloring Techniques with Prismacolor Pencils

In this class you will learn techniques for coloring and for blending using the pencils themselves, a Colorless Blender pencil and Gamasol. You will work on different surfaces such as fabric and dominoes to see how the pencils cover these. Bring the basic Prismacolor pencils to class. (the set is for sale at the store.)

Gelli Print Book

Whether you have a gelli plate or you may be interested in gelli printing this is a class on what to with some of the pages you have created. The gelli plate makes incredible papers that can be used in collage and journals. We are going to spend the morning gelli printing or creating mono prints on paper to use in the journal. After lunch we will combine our pages with the painted cover in a hand bound book. If you are new to gelli printing we will cover techniques and masking to leave areas for journaling. Bring your gelli plate or get one from Stamp Asylum. During the class we will using paint, stencils, and stamps to create textures and images on paper. Please wear old clothes and bring your basic kit and a brayer. I will have stencils and stamps to use but you are welcome to bring yours or if you have a favorite paint. ($55)

Jill from Sizzix will demonstrate the Eclipse machine and E-Cal software. This demonstration will be great for those who are looking at buying a new cutting machine. What a better way to do your research.
It is also a good demonstration for those who already have the machine, you may just find all kinds of tips and tricks.

It is a free demonstration.

Free Demonstration and new product

FREE ECLIPSE DEMONSTRATION:

Jill, one of the main demonstrators for Sizzix, will be here to demonstrate
the Eclipse machine and its software.

Demonstration will be Wednesday, June 5th.

The demonstration is free but we do need to know who is coming so we can arrange the room so everyone can be comfortable.

10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon demonstration on the Eclipse machine

12:45 p.m. - 2:45 p.m. demonstration on the E-Cal software

We will be closed on Monday, May 27th, to celebrate Memorial Day.
