BOTTLE TRANSFORMATION

Tell a story or share a memory with a story bottle. Adorn a solder trimmed bottle with waxed lace, vintage ribbons, vintage jewelry, watch parts, keys, hardware and anything else you may have. With your kit you will get the solder trimmed bottle, doily, ribbon, vintage book shred, lavender seed, a few trims, wire and use of images, wax, wire and rusty screen. You can also choose to solder trim an additional bottle to take home. Vintage knobs, jewelry and found objects will be available for sale, but you are welcome to bring your own.
Example, make a bottle memory of Grandma:
Print off an image that we can suspend in the bottle, bring any items of jewelry, fabric or small memorabilia that can make your bottle personal.
Skills Learned
Bottle soldering, wax working, transforming found and vintage objects into bottle trims.
Products Provided
Soldered bottle, blank bottle, foil, solder, doily, rusty screen, ribbon, paper shred, wax, wire, misc. chain and a few trims. Soldering iron to share.
Bring:
Additional lace, ribbons, trims etc. Items small enough to drop through neck of bottle. Topper for bottle, ie door knob, large button, ice pick or other vintage rod with handle, large key etc.
scissors, glue stick or adhesive of choice, basic wire working tools ie. round nose pliers, chain nose pliers, flush cutter. ($60)

Participants may choose to bring their meals and work during the break times.
Make a small copper book with a tube bar hanging system for the pages. Make more than a dozen faux tin-types to hang from the binding or rivet to the covers. Metal stamped discs spelling out tin types will be attached to the chain along with keys or trims that you may want to bring. Rubber stamp into molten solder to add interest to the book front. Work with a new patina system that uses both hot and cold techniques.
